India will face New Zealand in the World Testing Championship final which kicks off in Southampton from June 18 and analysts and pundits have started to make their predictions. The former Indian left-arm couturier craned his neck and gave New Zealand the advantage while Scott Styris predicted his country would win by six wickets. However, Parthiv Patel had a different take on the matter!

On the Star Sports show, CRICKET CONNECTED, Irfan Pathan, Scott Styris, Parthiv Patel and Ajit Agarkar shared their predictions for the ICC Test World Championship final.

Pathan backed New Zealand captain Kane Williamson to be the top scorer and put his side ahead. In terms of bowling, he said the biggest wicket taker would be Trent Boult or Mohammed Shami.

Williamson has been in great shape with the bat and has scored 1,264 points in 14 games with an astonishing 66.52 average since 2019, including 5 hundred. Shami has one of the best bowling rates in the world during this period.

“The WTC final is the biggest test match ever. I think New Zealand will have a 55-45 advantage. I also think Kane Williamson will be the top scorer. And, in terms of the biggest window taker – it will be between Trent Boult and Mohammad Shami, ”Pathan quoted,

Former New Zealand all-rounder Scott Styris was more precise with his numbers and even predicted the winning team’s margin of victory – he backed New Zealand to win by six wickets. He also said Devon Conway – who scored a double cent against England on his Test debut at Lord’s – will be the game’s top scorer while picking Boult as the top wicket-taker.

“I think New Zealand will win and win by 6 wickets. I think Devon Conway will be the top scorer and Trent Boult will get the most wickets. “

WTC 2021: find out who Parthiv Patel wants to be top scorer in WTC final

Parthiv Patel, feeling India was left behind, backed her team and backed them to win the mega contest. He also chose Shami to be the most dangerous Indian bowler in English conditions.

“I will put aside the logic of cricket and support India to win this test match. I think Mohammad Shami holds the key to the Indian bowling attack. Yes, Bumrah and Ishant Sharma bowled and prepared well, but I think Mohammad Shami is the key. The way he bowled in England and he did very well in all conditions. “

Ajit Agarkar was a bit more diplomatic but gave New Zealand a slight advantage going into the final. He made an interesting choice for the biggest run-getter by choosing Indian skipper Virat Kohli as his man. Kohli went through the worst phase of his testing career, but was in devastating form on India’s last tour of England in 2018. Shami appeared to be the unanimous choice of the main wicket taker and he was also backed by Agarkar to have the maximum impact. with the ball to Southampton.

“It’s hard to choose – who’s going to win it. I think New Zealand might just start the favorites in this one. For the first run getter, I will go with Virat Kohli. I think he showed us what he can do in England – the second time he was on tour – even in tough conditions and he would like to be the man to defend India. I think Mohammad Shami will be the biggest box taker. I think Bumrah’s rise was quick, but for me Mohammad Shami was India’s number one bowler, certainly in the cricket test and the conditions didn’t matter to him.
