US Open champion Daniil Medvedev, who plans to be out 1-2 months after hernia surgery, could miss the French Open

US Open champion Daniil Medvedev expects to be out for one to two months after undergoing hernia surgery.
The No. 2 ranked man in tennis tweeted Saturday he has been dealing with “a small hernia” in recent months.
“Together with my team, I decided to do a small procedure to fix the problem,” Medvedev wrote. “I will probably be out for the next 1-2 months and will work hard to be back on the pitch soon.”
Hi all. For the past few months, I’ve been playing with a small hernia. Together with my team, I decided to do a small procedure to solve the problem. I will probably be out for the next 1-2 months and will work hard to be back on the pitch soon. Thanks for all the support.

This timeline suggests that Medvedev could miss the next Grand Slam tournament, the French Open, which starts on May 22. He reached the quarter-finals at Roland Garros last year after losing in the first round in each of his first four appearances there.
The 26-year-old Russian star briefly topped the ATP rankings for the first time in February, before Novak Djokovic regained the top spot.
Medvedev beat Djokovic in the US Open final in September and then lost to Rafael Nadal in the Australian Open final in January.
In his last two tournaments, Medvedev lost his second match in Indian Wells, Calif., and reached the quarterfinals of the Miami Open on Thursday.
