Last update: 12/27/21 8:59 PM
The third Ashes test will continue as planned after players from England and Australia all return negative Covid-19 PCR tests.
However, there are now six positive cases in the England camp – three support staff and three family members – raising concerns about the future spread of the virus.
There was a fear of Covid ahead of the second day of the third test in Melbourne after four members of the England camp – two family members and two support staff – tested positive.
The game was allowed to continue after the England team returned negative lateral flow tests with day two starting half an hour later than expected.
It was agreed that on Monday evening the two teams would take PCR tests, which take longer to process but are more reliable indicators.
