Six Nations Rugby | Osborne score wins the fifth round try
Richie Murphy’s side may have finally come down to Les Bleuets in the match that decided second place in the standings, but Osborne’s effort was chosen as the pick of scores in Round 5.
The youngster from Leinster showed his power to slide on two tackles, Alexandre Tchaptchet and Léo Barré to open the scoring against France.
It came after a great start from a line-up that had cleared their way to the French line with Osborne finishing the job.
The score received 48% of the audience’s votes, enough to comfortably win ahead of Arthur Relton’s try for the Grand Slam winners in England.
The winger had shown his pace to explode on the left after a clever move from the baseline opened up the space wide.
Thibault Debaes’ score for France, 34-28 winners over Ireland, came third, while Louis Bielle-Biarrey completed the nominations for the round test.
A thrilling competition in Cardiff ended on Tuesday as England defeated a stubborn Italian side to win the Slam, while France battled Ireland to secure second place and the country of Wales finished in style with a victory over Scotland.
