New England boy Tommy Freeman ends great week with two tries as Northampton demolishes struggling Worcester

It was a one-sided contest from start to finish with the Saints amassing a bonus point and five tries before half an hour was played. They routed a visiting team who have now conceded 156 points in their last three games.
It started off badly and gradually got worse for Worcester, who saw South African winger Duhan van der Merwe being yellow carded for a dangerous release from a ruck, lifting hooker Josh Matavesi over the top of the net. horizontal and dropping the Northampton man onto his back.
Wales opening half Dan Biggar, who ended the game with a limp with a slight injury, left them in pain again as his quick tap and go penalty caught Worcester taking a nap and he took off on the line virtually unchallenged for the first down.
The lead was short lived as scrum-half Will Chudley charged up a clearance attempt and ran to put the ball to the ground.
The Saints, however, then took command as No.8 Teimana Harrison leaped forward from the back of a scrum, and the ball was sent down the line for scrum-half Alex Mitchell can point it.
Young opening half Fin Smith gave Worcester a penalty, but the Saints only had eyes for more tries, and when the Api Ratuniyarawa lock unleashed on a short wide pass, Worcester couldn’t not much to do to deny the Fijian power that has forced its way through.
South African winger Skosan celebrated the try with a bonus point as Freeman artfully kicked the ball forward rather than trying to retrieve it and Cape-born Skosan grabbed it and ran. Moments later, Rory Hutchinson intercepted the pass from Worcester mainstay Rory Sutherland and ran for 75 yards for another try.
Courtney Lawes scared Eddie Jones when he twisted his left knee in a heavy tackle and needed some care and straps on his left before he could continue.
The sight of the 32-year-old and 87-caps forward shrugging his shoulders and producing another physical and influential performance for his club will have thrilled the England head coach.
Skosan’s second try and Saints sixth were the best of the evening. The ball was moved quickly along the line to the left wing, and Skosan acrobatically managed to get the ball to the ground for a fraction of a second before being tackled in touch.
Freeman then celebrated his call to England with a nice try, backing Fraser Dingwall as the cross broke in and unloaded his teammate well to finish. Worcester was melting and Skosun running in the left corner for his third try and the Saints clearly found a real diamond.
The hosts weren’t done with their kill and were thirsty for more tries and Mitchell raced for his second, and finally Freeman finished the rout in the last minute – the full-back reaching the line to seal a nice personal display.
Worcester head coach Jonathan Thomas said: âWe gave them five or six tries tonight. It’s a group that isn’t fractured off the pitch as they work and train hard, but they’re struggling. It’s not like they don’t try. But under pressure it’s about 15 players playing together. “
