Hull KR half-back Mikey Lewis is in line to make his international debut after being included in the England Knights squad for Friday’s game against Jamaica.

As first reported by Rugby League Live, the 20-year-old was awarded a breakthrough Super League season after catching the attention of Knights head coach Paul Anderson.

Lewis has scored eight tries and added seven more in just 12 league appearances for the Robins.

The Hull-born playmaker also enjoyed productive loan spells at the York City Knights in the 2021 campaign, culminating in a Wembley try in the 1895 Cup final.

Fullbacks Lewis Dodd and Will Pryce have also been named to a young squad for the game at Mend-A-Hose Jungle, with Rovers forward George Lawler.

Dodd and his St Helens teammate Matty Lees will complete fitness tests after the Grand Final before joining the squad later next week.

“Through the Knights program, we are investing in the future of the English Rugby League, and although we have had some injuries and promotions in senior roster, it has created opportunities for others to come and show what they can do, “Anderson said.

“I’m really excited to be working with this group of players and helping them realize their potential.”

As part of the preparations for the Knights, Anderson’s team will participate in a joint field session with Shaun Wane’s senior team at Headingley.

Whether he plays or not, Lewis relishes the chance to rub shoulders with some of the best players in the country.

“I can’t wait to have this experience to become a better person and a better player,” he told Hull Live.

“Being surrounded by English players is really surreal.

Mikey Lewis gives a stunning try in the play-off between Hull KR and Warrington Wolves.

“I go there to be myself. I’m going to watch what the other players in my position are doing to get to where I need to go and make this senior team.

” I am not in a hurry ; I still have 15 good years ahead of me. But the sooner I do it the better it will be for me, just to make me a better person in general.
