Louis Rees-Zammit set to miss Six Nations clash between Wales and England in explosive selection call
Louis Rees-Zammit is set to miss selection for Wales’ Six Nations clash with England after being dropped from Wayne Pivac’s starting line-up.
WalesOnline understands the winger will not be involved on Matchday 23 and as a result will be sent back to his club Gloucester for their weekend clash with Premiership league leaders Leicester Tigers.
All England-based players are required to return to their club if they are not involved in the matchday squad, as is the case with Rees-Zammit.
Josh Adams having recovered from injury, it now looks likely that he will take his place in the squad alongside winger Alex Cuthbert.
Despite Ospreys winger Cuthbert’s impressive performance against Scotland in his first Six Nations start in five years, he is still a Wayne Pivac pick bomb.
Although Rees-Zammit hasn’t recently reached the heights he did last year, his place in the team seemed relatively secure until recently.
However, Pivac apparently saw fit to dispense with his services to deal with threats from England’s Eddie Jones.
Wales name their squad to face England on Thursday morning.
