England fan in “serious condition” after falling from the stands at Wembley in Croatia game

A football fan was rushed to hospital in “serious condition” on Sunday (June 13th) after falling from the stands at Wembley in England’s 1-0 win over Croatia, the stadium confirmed.
The spectator fell just after kick-off and received medical treatment on the ground before being taken to hospital.
There were 22,500 fans in the stadium, according to the government’s lockdown roadmap.
Wembley is now working with Uefa tournament organizers to ensure the case is fully investigated
A spokesperson for Wembley Stadium said: âWe can confirm that a spectator fell from the stands just after the kick-off of the game between England and Croatia at Wembley Stadium.
âThe spectator received medical treatment on the spot and was then taken to hospital in serious condition.
“We will continue to work with UEFA to ensure the matter is fully investigated and we continue to monitor the situation.”
The fan incident comes a day after Danish player Christian Eriksen suffered cardiac arrest during his country’s game against Finland.
Authorities say he is now awake and in stable condition in a Copenhagen hospital.
There were cheers ahead of England’s game against Croatia as the announcers wished Eriksen good luck, with a large screen displaying the message ‘Best Wishes Christian’ as applause erupted from the stands.
