Shane Jurgensen believes New Zealand has the best bowling assault in world cricket. The Blackcaps bowling coach believes the final run of the World Championship test offered convincing evidence of the New Zealand bowling attack.
New Zealand bowlers held a masterclass in Southampton as they helped New Zealand beat India by eight wickets in the inaugural WTC.
Speaking to the media, Shane Jurgensen said the performance at the WTC FINAL affirmed what he has long believed about New Zealand’s bowling attack to be the best in the world. He said, âI think so. Personally, I’ve been thinking about it for a while. I think they are, and I think we can probably say it forcefully now. It is no coincidence, it has been happening for a long time.

The kinship between the New Zealand leaders was visible to all. Explaining what makes the Kiwi group of four such a menacing mix, Shane Jurgensen showcased the confidence between the fast bowlers. He added: “The belief in the bowling group, how they plan, how fit they are, how strong they are and how much they believe in each other, trust is the main thing.”
The New Zealand rhythm attack is arguably considered to be the most adjusted in trial cricket. Two of the top swing bowlers are Trent Boult and Tim Southee. Kyle Jamieson’s option added another measure to an overall compromising attack. Shane Jurgensen praised the assortment of New Zealand redball cricket bowlers.
“Kyle’s height and precision, to be able to swing him back and forth at a good pace. Tim’s precision, his incredible new ball execution, can adapt, use the crease, over and around, left hand right. Trent – We know Trent’s abilities with the new ball, but he took wickets with the old ball, and he’s been doing it for a while, “he said.
The New Zealand bowling coach also applauded Neil Wagner. Shane Jurgensen explained how Neil Wagner added another stunt to his artillery.
âWith Neil, we know he makes people uncomfortable on the back foot and the front foot because of the lengths he throws, but now he’s bringing out guys like Trent. So he developed his own skills to make the ball swing back and forth and cut it, âhe added.
