Australian Policy Update: NSW Extends Mask Restrictions After 10 New Covid Cases; Barnaby Joyce sworn in as Deputy Prime Minister | Australia News

Labor MP for Lilley Anika wells was sent with something to say this morning:
Barnabé Joyce may be the only dinosaur to have returned from extinction.
Literally no one in my electorate has asked us here in the Australian parliament to bring the bonk back, but here we are.
In a nationwide calculation of the appalling treatment of women in the workplace, we now have this.
Apparently, the idea that there are no permanent consequences for anyone about this culture except the women themselves.
Since I was elected to this place two years ago, I have kept asking, incredulously, “What does it take to be sacked by Scott Morrison? ”
But this week, I now have to ask, “What standards of behavior is Scott Morrison prepared to accept from the second highest office in the country?”
It’s as if the Coalition brought their deranged and creepy uncle back to Christmas lunch and told him to preside over the turkey carving, but the consequences are far more serious than that.
This is one person who, in the Senate during the debate on labeling and changing water efficiency standards, said to Senator McKenzie, then chairing at the time: “Madam Deputy Chairman, Acting McKenzie, you look gorgeous tonight. You are just a little kit in this room, there is no doubt about you.
And Senator McKenzie, rightly objecting, said, “I mean, I’m sure there is a regulation somewhere, senator, but …” and he said, “It’s not controlling. Roll with me on it.
I mean, at his workplace! She is just trying to do her job, at her workplace! The Australian Senate!
And Barnaby Joyce, our new Deputy Prime Minister, thinks that is acceptable conduct. The Australians watching us here in this place now think this is what Scott Morrison considers acceptable conduct.
I was in my constituency on the weekend in Stafford, and a woman would ask me, “As a woman, how are you in this place? How do you feel when the Prime Minister turns his back on you every time you stand up, or when Peter Dutton cut you off three seconds after you start talking? ”
And I said, âWhat would you say if you had three seconds before the House leader stopped you to convey your message to this government, what would you say?
And she said, “How do you live with yourselves? ”
