Air New Zealand named best airline in the South Pacific – Travel Weekly
Air New Zealand has won the Passengers’ Choice award for Best Airline in the South Pacific in the Airline Passenger Experience Association’s (APEX) Official 2023 Airline Rankings.
The Kiwi carrier was also named the 2023 APEX Five Star winner.
The APEX award winners were announced last night at the Long Beach Convention Center in a ceremony packed with aviation insiders.
Hosted by BBC presenter Aaron Heslehurst, TV personality Tyra Banks and aviation journalist Mary Kirby, the awards recognize airlines from various regions for providing the best passenger experiences as rated by passengers.
For the 2023 awards, nearly one million flights were rated by passengers from more than 600 airlines around the world on a five-star scale. Passengers were given the opportunity to provide anonymous ratings in five sub-categories: seat comfort, cabin service, food and beverage, entertainment and Wi-Fi.
Air New Zealand CEO Greg Foran said the airline was incredibly proud to be named the best airline in the South Pacific.
“This award is a testament to the exceptional product and service that our teams continue to deliver to our customers – this award goes to our Air New Zealand whānau (family),” he said.
“A very big thank you to all of our employees who have played an important role in bringing us to where we are today.
“With New Zealand’s international borders reopening, it’s a fantastic way to celebrate that once our service from Chicago resumes on October 30, not only will we be resuming flights to our 29 international destinations, but we have also grown – having launched in New York last month.
