2022 Australian Open to serve Melbourne’s best food
“What I’ve always loved about Melbourne is its ability to bring people together through celebration, arts, culture and sport,” said Guy Grossi. “The Australian Open is a mega event that surrounds all of these things. I’m so excited to be involved and not only to share this fabulous atmosphere but also to play a small part in bringing elements of it to the guests through my food.
“Food is an integral part of the makeup of Melbourne and weaves through every experience, including major sporting events. The excellence of the dining experiences at AO, including choice, diversity, multiculturalism and quality, is a testament to the AO’s dedication to a holistic guest experience and the importance of such a passionate hospitality industry and innovative. The unprecedented AO dining experience in January will offer something for everyone from five-star fine dining and celebrity chefs to sustainable cuisine and the best street food in town.
The brand new dining district, located in the heart of Melbourne Park and overlooking Garden Square, will host two new glamorous restaurants, a bistro and a bar as follows:
· Rockpool Bar & Grill collaboration with Burnt Ends, ranked # 34 in the world’s best restaurants. Singapore-based celebrity Australian chef Dave Pynt contributed to the menu and describes his food as the place where “luxury ingredients meet the kiss of smoke”.
Penfolds Restaurant, offering a four-course menu accompanied by specially selected Penfolds wines, including an indulgent barn glass
A more casual two-course menu is offered at Penfolds Bistro and the magnificent Max’s Rose Bar on the terrace, a rosy vision in all shades of pink.
