2022 Australian Open tennis tournament: Bernard Tomic makes explosive career announcement

Bernard Tomic said in an Instagram hype video that “he’s back,” using the hatred he sparked in a controversial tennis career as fuel to jumpstart a turbulent career.
Formerly world No.17 and Wimbledon quarter-finalist at 18, the 29-year-old is now ranked 254th in the world and won the last of his four career titles in 2018.
After falling out with Davis Cup captain Lleyton Hewitt, Tomic has a good chance of receiving a wildcard for the Australian Open.
That means he will have to repeat his exploits at the start of the year, when he won three consecutive qualifiers and reached the second round thanks to a mid-game retirement, to appear at Melbourne Park in 2022.
But if his social media edit is anything to go by, Tomic is ready to earn his chance.
“I have had a lot of hate in my life. But I can’t give up. Don’t you think I see the hateful comments? It hurts, ”he said.
“In the past, I used to get caught up and react out of stupidity. But now I use it for fuel.
“I’m back. I’m … I’m hungry, and I’m ready. No one can stop me now except me.
Tomic’s decade-long disgrace was accompanied by rapid and lackluster losses on several occasions, which led experts to question his efforts and commitment.
As if to prove a point, Tomic is filmed in the Instagram video boxing and lifting weights with Fort Minor’s “Remember the Name” as the backing track.
“I train, I sweat, I push, I’m excited,” he said.
“Everything you need to get back to the top. Hard work pays off. I put my sweat and my tears in this sport.

“I have already returned. It is time to set the record straight.
In an interview with News Corp, Tomic also said he’s been bored in his life since stepping away from tennis.
“I stopped playing two and a half years ago. I said ‘I’m done with this’. I had outside distractions, ”said Tomic.
“But I miss that a bit now too to be honest.”
